An oval grille made the Festiva look as fishy as it drove, but the big news was the introduction of a 67kW single-cam 16-valve 1.5L engine on the new higher-spec Trio S and GLXi models.
Revised trim inside and out also distinguishes the short-lived WD. The base Trio famously became embroiled in a three-way price war with the Excel and Starlet, resulting in prices plummeting to $11,990 driveaway-with-air.
