Aston Martin's $4 million One-77 to make public premiere at Lake Como24 Apr 2009 ASTON Martin has confirmed that its $4 million One-77 supercar will make its global public debut at the world-famous Concorso d’Eleganza on the shores of Lake Como in Italy this weekend. The interior of the hand-built One-77 coupe will be revealed when the complete vehicle makes its first appearance, complete with a fully operational 7.0-litre V12. First revealed last August, less than 18 months after Aston was bought by a consortium led by UK motorsport heavyweight and Prodrive owner David Richards, the super-exclusive One-77 is the first all-new Aston Martin built since Ford relinquished its control of the British sportscar marque. Aston Martin revealed a design illustration of the One-77 at the Geneva motor show last month, which revealed its bespoke carbon-fibre chassis wrapped in hand-rolled aluminium body panels. Commemorating the brand’s James Bond connection as well as its lucky number, just 77 examples will be produced globally, with one well-heeled Australian enthusiast already confirmed as having committed to buy one. ![]() “The One-77 demonstrates the unique capabilities of our company – it encompasses engineering excellence with a great passion from our engineers, designers and technical partners,” said Aston Martin chief executive Dr Ulrich Bez. “This is a major step in One-77’s engineering program, showing the first complete car, and will demonstrate new benchmarks in many different fields of automotive design. “The craftsmanship and design that has gone into the creation of the Aston Martin One-77 lifts automotive engineering into the realm of art.
