Citroen reveals facelifted versions of its C2, C3 and C3 Pluriel at Frankfurt show20 Sep 2005 CITROEN unveiled facelifted versions of its small car range alongside the striking C-Sportlounge concept at Frankfurt last week. Due to be launched in Australia after next year’s Melbourne motor show in March, the revised C2, C3 and C3 Pluriel models receive largely cosmetic updates. However, the new C3 1.6 HDi variant could become Australia’s first oil-burning C3, following the brand’s successful diesel forays with the C5 large sedan and wagon and, in December, the new C4. The new 1.6-litre HDi engine delivers 83kW and 240Nm of torque from just 1750rpm, while returning a frugal 4.4L/100km on the European combined cycle. The French maker’s 2006 C2, C3 and C3 Pluriel each feature a redesigned front-end, new wheels and new tail-lights, while their interiors will offer a new dashboard claimed to offer improved quality and ergonomics.
