Future models - Denza - D9Denza expands Aussie range with D9 MPVAll-electric D9 follows B5 and B8 SUVs into local showrooms, priced from $85,9902 Mar 2026 By MATT BROGAN DENZA has expanded its Australian portfolio with the introduction of the D9 electric people mover.
Priced from $85,990 plus on-road costs, the Denza D9 is offered in front- and all-wheel drive configurations, promising buyers “refined sophistication, space, and EV mobility for first-class travel”.
Riding on Denza’s e-Platform 3.0 underpinnings, the Denza D9 features a 103.3kWh Blade Battery powering a single 230kW/360Nm electric motor in front-wheel drive format, and 275kW/470Nm for the all-wheel drive.
Denza quotes a WLTP driving range of 520km and 480km for the duo respectively.
Both variants offer 200kW DC fast charging, 11kW AC charging, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality.
The D9 measures 5250mm in length with a 3110mm wheelbase, sufficient, Denza says, to offer both generous interior proportions and a commanding road presence.
The frontal mask of the D9 is inspired by the mathematical pi symbol, with deep vertical bars and LED lights flowing into a waistline that symbolises the “trajectory path of a celestial object”. That theme is continued in the rear LED lights which are said to generate the effect of curved star streaks.
Inside, the Denza D9 is as lavish as a private jet with nappa leather upholstery, open-pore white ash wood trim, soft-touch surfaces, concealed LED ambient lighting, and a premium suede roof liner (for the AWD grade).
Double-layer acoustic glass, power sliding doors with soft-close functionality, and a dual panoramic sunroof add to a sense of serenity, the cabin offering in a three-row (2+2+3) configuration with second-row captain’s chairs that feature ventilation, massage functionality, powered leg rests, position memory, and more than 900mm of legroom.
Technology and connectivity features are generous throughout, with highlights including a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instrument screen, a 12.0-inch head-up displays, four-zone voice command, and individual 5.5-inch displays in each of the second-row captain’s chairs.
The D9 further features a dual-mode fridge cum hotbox, a 14-speaker Dynaudio sound system, adaptive DiSus-C suspension, and cargo capacity that ranges from 410 to 2310 litres depending on seating configuration.
Like other Denza models, the D9 is equipped with a cell-to-body structure that integrates the battery within the vehicle body for added safety, improved torsional rigidity, and a lowered centre of gravity.
This important feature is backed by the use a high-strength steel and hot-formed alloys throughout the body structure, and safety features that include eight airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot detection, emergency lane keeping assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, and more.
“We’re introducing a new standard of practical luxury,” said Denza Australia chief operating officer Mark Harland.
“The Denza D9 offers all occupants first-class comfort, advanced technology, and everyday usability without compromise.”
The Denza D9 will compete in the People Mover over $70K category locally where it will vie with other electric contenders, including the LDV Mifa 9 (from $104,000), Mercedes-Benz EQV 300 (from $161,723), Volkswagen ID.Buzz Pro (from $87,990), and Zeekr 009 ($115,900), as well as ICE and hybridised entrants like the GAC M8 (from $76,590) and Lexus LM 350h (from $163,520).
