Maserati celebrates its FIA GT win with the limited-edition GranSport MC Victory24 Feb 2006 MASERATI may have released its pair of Quattroporte GT sedans in Melbourne, where the Italian sportscar-maker also previewed the GranSport Spyder due on sale here mid-year, but an even hotter Mazza has been revealed ahead of its Geneva motor show debut next week. Dubbed the GranSport MC Victory and based on the $248,500 295kW GranSport Coupe, the newest Maserati is a limited-edition model to celebrate the marque’s victory in the 2005 FIA GT Manufacturers’ Cup and offers links with the title-winning Maserati MC12 racer. Limited to a global production run of 180 vehicles – of which just five have been earmarked for Australia and New Zealand for a mid-year arrival – the MC Victory features blue carbon front and rear spoilers and an Italian flag embedded in its side panels. There’s also a more direct steering rack, leather and Alcantara interior trim and highlights, and carbon racing seats. Full specs and pricing will be announced closer to launch, but expect the MC Victory to be one of the most expensive Maseratis ever by topping the forthcoming Maserati GranSport Coupe’s $248,500 pricetag. |
