Passat TDI upgrade coming

VOLKSWAGEN has upped the power stakes of its Passat TDI sedan and wagon, which are due in local showrooms soon.

Pricing will start from $44,990 – an increase of $2000 for the sedan.

The revised direct injection turbo-diesel engine produces 125kW of power and 360Nm of torque (up 23kW and 40Nm respectively).

Performance gains are the result of computer re-mapping on the 2.0-litre TDI engine.

With redesigned alloy wheels and one additional colour, the updated Passat TDI will be available from the third-quarter of this year.
