Future models - Maserati - Quattroporte - GT SMelbourne show: Maser GT sedan gets S treatmentAuto-only: Firmer-handling Sport GT S is not available with Duo Select. Maserati puts a $300K-plus price on its Quattroporte Sport GT S in Melbourne3 Mar 2008 THE Quattroporte Sport GT S was presented for the first time in Australia at the Melbourne International Motor Show on Friday (February 29). A harder-edged version of the luxury Sport GT, the GT S costs $308,000 and runs the same Ferrari-derived V8 engine as other Quattroportes, but offers handling and styling upgrades. The GT S uses stiffer springs and dampers and sits 10mm lower at the front and 25mm lower at the rear. Maserati claims the changes have produced a noticeable reduction in the roll and pitch angles. Its anchors have also been upgraded with a special Brembo set-up that uses composite dual-cast discs. The Sport GT S is the first road car to run the new system, which also features mono-bloc six-piston front callipers. While other Quattroportes are available with either a six-speed automatic (ZF) or the Duo Select sequential manual, the GT S is only available with the six-speed auto. Visual upgrades include 20-inch wheels, a black-and-chrome mesh grille and black twin exhaust pipes. Read more:First look: Maserati slams Quattroporte |
