Minor MY26 update to Hyundai Tucson, Santa Fe

Hyundai’s latest digital key tech headlines cut-price Tucson, mildly pricier Santa Fe

25 Aug 2025

HYUNDAI has announced a new price list for mildly revised versions of its popular Tucson medium SUV and Santa Fe large SUV, both of which gain new 'Digital Key 2’ technology and minor cosmetic tweaks for the 2026 model year.

New Tucson buyers will benefit from price reductions of between $1000 and $2500, starting with the front-wheel drive base model with 2.0-litre petrol engine at $38,100 (-$1000) excluding on-road costs.

For MY26, seven of the nine Tucson variants are now hybrid-only.

Stock of the MY26 Tucson is available now while the MY26 Santa Fe arrives in Hyundai dealerships during September priced from $53,400 + ORC with all versions attracting a small price increase of $400.

Three trim levels continue for both models with the hybrid-focused MY26 Tucson range now reserving the sporty N Line option for Elite and Premium grades.

Hyundai's Digital Key 2 tech – which recently earned accolades from JD Power – is borrowed from premium sub-brand Genesis and enables owners to integrate their car keys with their smartphone’s digital wallet, provided Bluelink connected car services are activated.

In addition to locking, unlocking and starting of the car with the digital key in proximity, owners can share up to 15 digital keys with family and friends using compatible devices.

New-for-MY26 17-inch alloy wheels are fitted to the Tucson range-opener (likewise but 18s on the Santa Fe), plus both have specific wheel designs for each powertrain.

The Tucson gets an updated colour palette for MY26 – including a new hue called Ecotronic Grey that is available in a pearl finish across the range and as a matte finish exclusively with the N Line option.

Other minor colour palette updates include the discontinuation of Titan Grey Metallic, and matte paint finishes now exclusive to Premium and N Line variants.

According to Hyundai, an evolution towards increasingly sustainable and efficient powertrains (in other words compliance with the federal New Vehicle Efficiency Standard), resulted in the MY26 Tucson model line-up becoming “predominantly hybrid, with the 2.0 MPi continuing as the only petrol option, and the 1.6 T-GDi discontinued”.

Hyundai Motor Company Australia chief executive officer Don Romano said the updated Santa Fe and Tucson line-ups “deliver enhanced appeal and value in the ever popular medium and large SUV segments”.

“Substantial price reductions for the newly hybrid-focused 2026 Tucson range, and the convenience of Hyundai Digital Key 2 as standard for both models, ensures these SUVs continue as compelling family vehicles in a competitive marketplace.”
