New models - Renault - TraficSafety boost inbound for MY25 Renault TraficGold Star Commercial Van rating arrives alongside equipment changes to Renault Trafic2 Jun 2025 By MATT BROGAN RENAULT Australia has boosted the safety credentials of its Trafic mid-sized van, earning it a Gold Star Commercial Van rating by ANCAP in the process.
Priced from $49,490 to $63,490 plus on-road costs, the updated Trafic arrives with no increase in price over the outgoing range (see pricing table below).
The announcement comes as the French importer announces model-year equipment changes to the Trafic range said to deliver new levels of comfort and convenience.
Among the standard equipment upgrades to Pro variants is a factory-fitted steel bulkhead with a glazed window, and a fold-down ‘table’ with an upright document holder between the front seats – both previously optional.
The MY25 Renault Trafic range is further differentiated by new-look branding, a driver attention monitor with drowsiness alert, ADAS on/off switch, emergency services QR rescue code, cyclist and pedestrian detection as part of the autonomous emergency braking bundle, and an automatic high beam function as part of the range’s standard bi-LED headlighting.
Further, Trafic Pro Crew versions add chrome interior garnishing, while Trafic Premium grades add a 7.0-inch digital display within the instrument cluster, LED cabin lighting, a half-painted rear bumper, and painted tail-light column.
The Trafic range continues to be powered by a turbcharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine producing 125kW/380Nm driving the front wheels via a six-speed manual or dual-clutch transmission. Fuel economy is rated between 6.5- and 7.2 litres per 100km, depending on variant, while service intervals are set at 12 months of 30,000km, whichever comes first.
Optionally, the Renault Trafic Pro is available with metallic paint ($800), a solid right-hand sliding door ($800), barn door glazing ($400), and 17-inch alloy wheels ($1000).
Option packs include for the Trafic Pro include the Trade Pack ($2000) offering an anti-slip wooden floor, full height cargo area wall lining, heavy duty battery, anti-theft spare wheel basket, and LED ceiling lights; Peace of Mind Pack ($1200) with front and side parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, and power folding wing mirrors; Van Comfort Pack ($1200) adding front fog lights, tyre pressure monitoring, rain-sensing wipers, credit card-style sensor key with push-button ignition, wide-view passenger-side mirror, and an electrochromatic rear-view mirror; Crew Comfort Pack ($1000) adding the same features as the Van Comfort Pack with the exception of the electrochromatic rear-view mirror.
Meanwhile, the Renault Trafic Premium is offered optionally with metallic paint ($800), no-cost glazed tailgate window, no-cost removal of right-hand sliding door, left and right sliding doors with glazing ($400), and 17-inch alloy wheels ($1000).
The upscale variant is offered with the Trade Pack ($2000) offered on the Trafic Pro, and additionally with Renault’s Business Pack ($2200) adding climate control, factory window tinting, 17-inch alloy wheels, a heated driver’s seat, proprietary satellite navigation, over-speed prevention system, painted wing mirror scalps, painted body-side mouldings, and a fully painted rear bumper.
“June is historically the biggest month of the year for commercial vehicle sales and, demonstrating our commitment to the Australian market, we have introduced a number of changes to the MY25 Renault Trafic line-up,” said Renault Australia general manager Glen Sealey.
“While the Australian new-car market saw a spike in sales of delivery vans during the global COVID-19 pandemic a couple of years ago – as more people shopped online while working from home – we have seen this trend continue.
“Demand in the delivery van segment remains strong as consumers feel more comfortable shopping online and having goods delivered to their home or work. This emerging consumer trend has enabled more small businesses and independent operators to get into the courier or delivery business.
“The MY25 Renault Trafic is a compelling proposition for businesses that need to keep moving. If a van is your tool of trade, then the Renault Trafic is your best business partner.”
The revamped MY25 Renault Trafic range is due in showrooms this month (June).
