While the Czech importer has not said how many vehicles are available, it says that the offer is available on new and demonstrator variants equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, front and rear parking sensors, front fog lights, and power folding mirrors.
Further, the Kamiq Select is offered with an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, keyless entry and ignition, dusk-sensing headlights, rain-sensing wipers, an electrochromatic rear-view mirror, dual-zone climate control, leather-trimmed sports steering wheel, and more as standard fare.
Infotainment duties fall to an 8.25-inch touchscreen array offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and eight-speaker sound, while a long list of standard safety technologies includes six airbags, autonomous emergency braking, driver fatigue detection, lane assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and more.
The Skoda Kamiq Select is powered by a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine developing 85kW/200Nm and driving the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
“Skoda has been offering the Kamiq Select as an impressively roomy, well-equipped, high-value, and critically lauded darling in the light SUV segment since its introduction,” said Skoda Australia product manager Glenn Reid.
“No other vehicle in its class offers that same proposition, packaged up in Euro chic, and with the icing of Skoda’s seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty, and affordable finance with guaranteed future value.
“Now at $29,990 drive-away for the MY24 Kamiq Select in Moon White metallic, the case for ownership has never been clearer or smarter.”
The Skoda Kamiq competes within the SUV Small under $45K segment locally, where it has accumulated year-to-date sales of 311 units.
That figure places the European contender well behind the status quo, with rivals including the Hyundai Kona (8757 unit sales YTD), MG ZS (8232 units), GWM Haval Jolion (7029 units), and Chery Tiggo 4 (6228 units) all selling in considerably higher numbers.
