Jeep Grand Cherokee discontinued after 29 years, decision follows 92pc sales slump6 Mar 2025 By MATT BROGAN CITING local market dynamics and changing customer preferences, Stellantis Australia has called time on its Jeep Grand Cherokee after a 29-year run.
The decision follows poor sales performance – likely driven by excessive list pricing and past quality concerns – that saw the Grand Cherokee finish 2024 with just 2377 unit sales, down 92.2 per cent (from 30,408) in 2014.
Last month, the Jeep Grand Cherokee (from $65,450 - $110,850) sold just 103 units, well below those of its closest competitors.
By way of contrast, the Ford Everest sold 1207 units (up 29.1 per cent year-on-year), the Land Rover Defender 316 units (up 31.9 per cent YoY), and the Toyota LandCruiser Prado 2723 units (up 101.5 per cent YoY).
