THE BMW 328i is no more. Now, there's the 330i - a faster, more sumptuous luxury sedan that is no thirstier for fuel than its predecessor. It wants for virtually nothing in terms of equipment either, with even a TV monitor included as standard. This backs up an on-board computer and a killer sound 10-speaker system as well as the usual lavish presentation that includes leather seats and "high lustre metallic" trim where wood grain would normally abound. The 330i epitomizes the term "sports saloon".

Family Tree: 3 SeriesBMW's E36 3 Series was released locally in April 1991, replacing the E30 version which spwaned the first M3, a four-cylinder. The 2.8 litre 328i arrived in June 1995 and built on the E30's reputation as a first-class compact sports sedan, being both lighter and smaller than its successor, the current E46 3 Series that debuted in September 1998. The E36's 2.8 litre six continued in the E46 3 Series until September 2000, when it was replaced by the current M54 3.0 litre six to create the 330i.
