MITSUBISHI’S Lancer has long had attracted a strong following in the small car class, thanks to youthful styling, a larger than average interior, competitive pricing and Lancer’s rally heritage. Now that package has improved significantly via a MY2006 upgrade that includes subtle styling updates, more equipment and, most importantly, a 2.4-litre MIVEC engine from Grandis and Outlander. The new mill elevates the Lancer driving experience significantly and matches the Mazda3 SP23 as the most powerful small sedan in its class.
