New models - Ford - F-150Updated Ford F-150 nets $8K price hikeRefreshed Ford F-150 line-up introduces Platinum variant, design updates, more tech23 Oct 2025 By MATT BROGAN FORD Australia has announced running changes to its locally remanufactured F-150 range, the update bringing a new flagship Platinum variant to a line-up that further introduces design updates and more technology for 2025.
Pricing now starts at $114,950 plus on-road costs or $8000 more than before. The figure places the F-150 in step with competition that includes the Chevrolet Silverado (from $130,500), the Ram 1500 (from $141,950), and the Toyota Tundra (from $155,990).
Key to the update is the introduction of the F-150 Platinum grade whose equipment highlights include bold black and smoked metal accents, 20-inch alloy wheels, Platinum branding, powered side steps, a multi-folding hard tonneau cover, and a bespoke suspension tune with adaptive dampers.
Inside, the flagship variant offers black onyx upholstery, multi-adjustable front seats with massage functionality, and a fold-flat seating arrangement said to allow the ultimate on comfort during breaks.
Elsewhere in the range we find LED lighting as standard across the range, as well as larger 12.0-inch instrumentation and infotainment screens.
All variants continue to be powered by Ford’s turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 EcoBoost petrol engine producing 298kW at 6000rpm and 678Nm at 3100rpm.
Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and available with part- and full-time four-wheel drive configuration, depending on grade, the F-150 range retains its 136-litre fuel tank and 4500kg braked towing capacity.
Ford Australia continues to offer the F-150 in both short- and long-wheelbase format, now with price parity between the pair.
The only option available for the updated F-150 is prestige paint on the XLT and Lariat which attract a $750 price premium. Prestige paint is a no cost option on the Platinum. Otherwise, Oxford White is the only no-cost option, with Star White, Iconic Silver, Carbonised Grey, Antimatter Blue and Rapid Red offered optionally.
Payload has increased slightly across the range, the GCM and GVM upgrade allowing a range of between 704kg and 878kg depending on variant. Lariat and Platinum grades now add as standard the three-way Pro Access tailgate, adding even greater flexibility of access to the load bed.
Adding to those features offered in the previous (MY23) F-150 we now find the XLT (from $114,950) now with LED headlights and front fog lights, black-painted grille with blackened mesh and chrome central bar, XLT amber indicators, a new LED tail-light cluster, 20-inch six-spoke alloy wheels, 360-degree camera system, load area lighting and 12-volt outlet, chrome door handles, black and chrome side steps, and a chrome exhaust tip.
Internal additions include the aforementioned 12.0-inch screen pairing alongside additional USB-A and USB-C outlets.
For the F-150 Lariat (from $143,950), and incremental to those features listed for the XLT, we find new features including 20-inch chromed alloy wheels, Pro Access tailgate, extended length chrome side steps, a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and auto climate controlled (heated and ventilated) front seats.
Finally, the all-new range-topping Platinum (from $163,950) offers equipment highlights that include gloss black exterior accents and Ford badging, smoked fender decorations, adaptive damper, body-colour mirrors and door handles, 20-inch gloss black alloys, powered side steps, multi-folding tonneau covers, additional cargo view camera, and a smoked exhaust tip extension.
The cabin is upholstered in black onyx trim with powered and massaging front seats, and Platinum branded elements on the front scuff plates, steering wheel, front seats, and console lid.
“We are thrilled to bring the refreshed F-150, including the new Platinum series, to our Australian customers,” said Ford Australia marketing director Ambrose Henderson.
“For supreme cross-country touring ability while towing or hauling – the F-150 is without peer.
“The F-150 has a legendary reputation globally, and with these enhancements we are confident it will continue to resonate strongly with those who demand capability, comfort, and sophistication.
“We’ve listened to our customers that have been asking for a full-size truck that offers an elevated, more luxurious experience, and the F-150 Platinum does exactly that. Who doesn’t love massage seats on a long road trip?
The updated Ford F-150 will continue to be re-manufactured on behalf of Ford Australia by RMA Automotive Australia in Mickleham, Victoria, with deliveries expected to commence in early 2026.
