Mercedes-Benz announces Special Edition packages

MERCEDES-BENZ has announced a range of Special Edition models across its compact car line-up, offering what it says are “striking design features and appointments”.

Offered on the A-Class Hatch and Sedan, CLA Coupé, GLA-Class and GLB-Class, the Special Edition enhancements include Mercedes-Benz Night Package design elements, adding high-gloss black trim elements, such as tailpipe trims and side sill panels.

Additionally, the A-Class and CLA Coupé feature 19-inch AMG alloy wheels, while the GLA and GLB are equipped with 20-inch AMG alloys, both unique to the Special Edition.

All 200 badged variants receive a panoramic sunroof as part of the Special Edition treatment, the feature already a standard inclusion on 250 4Matic grades.

Inside, the Special Edition treatment adds grey seatbelts and grey contrast topstitching on the seats, dashboard and door panels, while the GLA-Class features light longitudinal-grain aluminium trim and the GLB-Class a “distinctive carbon-structure finish”.

The Special Edition also introduces Manufaktur Alpine Grey (solid) paint to the compact range for the first time. This, along with other Manufaktur and metallic paint options, is offered at no additional cost.

Mercedes-Benz says the Special Edition treatment adds $4800 of value (depending on model), while offering a “compelling proposition for customers seeking individuality and unique appointments across the compact portfolio”.
