New models - MG - HSMG sharpens its pencil with a suite of incentivesCashback and discounted driveaway pricing for select MG HS variants, and others4 Sep 2025 By MATT BROGAN AFTER achieving fourth place on the new car best seller list in August with its ZS hybrid and petrol-powered small SUV, MG Motor has fired-up its marketing efforts with tools such as driveaway pricing, discounts and cashback offers pertaining to the HS medium-sized SUV, the MG 3 small hatchback and the ZS small SUV.
Based on the August 2025 pricelist from RJ Pound Pricing Services, the base model petrol-powered MG HS Vibe lists from $33,990 driveaway (no change) while the Excite drops $1000 to $35,990 driveaway, and the Essence also drops a grand to $39,990 driveaway.
There is no change to the schedule for any other MG HS including Hybrid, PHEV and Super PHEV-powered models all of which are listed at driveaway pricing.
Moving to other MGs we find the popular, previous $2,000 cashback offer on the MG ZS and MG 3 Light segment hatchback reinstated in September including both petrol and Hybrid+ models. The offer also includes $2000 cashback on ZST Vibe demonstrator models until 30 September 2025.
The incentives are targeted to make MG’s hybrid powertrain more accessible to buyers seeking a mix of efficiency and everyday practicality.
According to industry statistician, VFACTS the MG HS has found a home on 2564 driveways so far this year well behind the segment leading Toyota RAV4 Hybrid on 32,564 while the smaller, more affordable MG ZS is on 14,419 units YTD all told.
MG Motor itself attained ninth place for overall sales last month and would be keen to either catch up with or overtake its Chinese rivals particularly BYD and GWM which have made big inroads this year into the new car market Down Under.
To that end, the Chinese manufacturer, part of the extensive SAIC group, has announced the above limited driveaway and cash back offers for the month of September which differ slightly state dependent.
“We’ve had a great response to our cashback offer and we’re happy to have this fantastic offer across the ZS and MG3 ranges for September,” said MG Motor Australia business director Kevin Gannon.
“MG will continue to provide leading value across our vehicles and this month’s offer should be secured quickly by interested buyers.
“The MG HS offers an amazing opportunity for families who want that extra space in their daily vehicle. The value MG provides is industry leading and continues to offer Australian motorists more ways to drive away in their own new car.”
The HS, ZS and 3 are backed by MG’s over 100-strong Australian dealership network and seven -year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and a 10-year/250,000-kilometre warranty when serviced at MG dealerships. ![]() Read more4th of September 2025 ![]() MG U9 ute edges closerIncoming MG U9 ute covers off work and play with SUV-like comforts3rd of September 2025 ![]() VFACTS: August sales second best on recordFour Chinese brands enter the top 10, August sales the second highest on record13th of August 2025 ![]() MG Motor updates MG 4 for 2026Front-wheel drive MG 4 to join RWD and AWD variants from second quarter next year4th of July 2025 ![]() MG adds HS hybrids to medium SUV line-upNational drive-away pricing from $43K for petrol-electric MG HS Hybrid+ medium SUVAll new models![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Motor industry news |
